About – momdishes
Pam

Hi, my name is
Pam!

And momdishes is my little corner of the internet!

I launched momdishes in 2016 while I was still teaching third‑grade math at a small public school in Charlotte. My first post was a simple One‑Pot Chicken Alfredo that I whipped up after bedtime, and I posted it from my kitchen table with a shaky phone camera. I never imagined that a handful of friends would start asking for the recipe, but within a year the blog was getting about 5,000 page views a month. Today momdishes attracts roughly 120,000 visitors each month, has 2,300 newsletter subscribers, and features more than 150 family‑friendly recipes.

In 2020 I decided to take the next step and launched a YouTube channel where I demonstrate the recipes in real time. The channel hit 10,000 subscribers within six months and now sits at just over 40,000, with most videos getting between 8,000 and 15,000 views. I published my first e‑book, “Everyday Meals for Busy Moms,” in March 2022; it’s sold more than 5,000 copies and is used in a handful of school nutrition classes. A feature in Family Food Magazine’s March 2023 issue brought even more traffic, and I’ve been invited to speak at three local food festivals since then.

I now call Asheville, North Carolina home, where I share a small house with my husband Mark and our three kids—Lily, 9, Noah, 7, and Emma, 4. My favorite things are hiking the Blue Ridge trails on Saturday mornings, Sunday pancake breakfasts with maple syrup, and hunting for vintage aprons at flea markets. I still keep my grandma’s handwritten recipe card for her famous apple crumble tucked in a tin box on the pantry shelf—it’s the one I reach for when I need a little reminder of why I started cooking in the first place. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll probably find me with a gardening glove on, trying to coax the tomatoes to ripen a little earlier.
